National Information
This is a selective listing of the Web
sites I have found most informative or entertaining.
General Lousiana Music and Culture Information
 | Cajun/Zydeco Music & Dance
-
Perhaps the first Cajun and zydeco sites on the web, this page, maintained by
Jeremy Rice, includes links to extensive
C/Z information. There is also a great article here, found by going to the
"Louisiana info" link, on planning a C/z trip to Southwest
Louisiana. I agree with almost all of Jeremy's suggestions. |
 | Become a Friend of Louisiana Folk Roots:
Support the traditions that support Louisiana. . Website: www.lafolkroots.org. |
 | Louisiana Music Commission The
LMC's mission is to promote and develop Louisiana's popular, commercial
music and related industries to produce the highest possible economic and
cultural benefit for the People of Louisiana. Their website has
late-breaking news, and a terrific, annotated links page.t |
 | Zydeco Cajun Prairie Scenic Byways.
This website about the music, culture and history of the
Louisiana Prairie area (which include Eunice, Mamou, Opelousas, Ville Platte,
Crowley & Church Point). There are sections devoted to art &
artisans, food, history & culture, nature & wildlife, music and
festivals, plus a list of clubs and up-to-date calender for all the local
events happening in each town (& there is always something going on in SW
Louisiana). Additional sidebars include features on "byways",
"folkways" and "real ways of life" with very informative pop-up windows.
|
 | Gary Hayman's
ZydE-Magic
Cajun/Zydeco Music and Dance Web site is now
an archive of 13 years of articles about most everything Cajun/zydeco. Gary
received contributions from C/z fans from all
over the world that made for some interesting and amusing reading.
