bulletOriginal Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival in Plaisance, LA. I went to the 1996 festival and it was incredible. Check out their official web site. The Festival now has an official research archives established at the Opelousas Museum & Interpretive Center which contains over 14 years of Creole/Zydeco music performances, recorded live on video tape and in still photographs. Located at 329 North Main Street in Opelousas, hours of operation are 9 am - 5pm Monday - Friday.
bulletFestivals Acadiens..my FAVORITE of them all...in Lafayette, LA usually the 3rd weekend in September. Great music and cultural events during the day, great music in the clubs at night.

bulletSan Francisco Bay Area:  Ellen Papper's Bay Area Cajun Zydeco Dance Calendar lists all the SF Bay dance events and is updated several times a week.  Dance instructor Dana Desimone has a good local Z/c dance website that includes the Eagles Hall (Alameda) schedule and articles about recent shows, C/z dance styles and Dana's philosophy of dancing.  Dana is a great writer - worth checking out. Louisiana Sue, a West Coast promoter of mostly zydeco bands, now has her own website which showcases her events and her organization, mostly in the SF Bay Area and Sacramento.
